F.A.Q.

I invite you to consult this section for the most Frequently Asked Questions.

1- How are the segment shells built?
Each segment is cut from a carefully-picked wood lumber. Then it is sanded down, glued like a brick wall and finally turned on a high precision lathe. It is a lengthy craftsmanship that requires patience, dexterity, and many tools. Each instrument is built one by one with extreme attention to details.

2- Why use segment shells?
They contain 100 times less glue than a plywood shell. Therefore, less glue means much more resonance. They are also sought after for their dimensional stability, richness of sound and exceptional appearance.

3- Do you build your own shells?
Yes, I build and turn my own shells.

4- Do you sell full drum kits?
Yes. Depending on your needs, I can turn 8 to 22 inch shells in diameter from ¼ inch to 1 inch thick.

5- Do you build shells for other companies or hobbyists?
Not for the moment.

6- Do you build wooden hoops?
No, but I am working on it. They are a part of my upcoming projects.

7- What types of wood are available?
Practically any type of wood, domestic or exotic.

8- What is the usual delivery time for an order?
6 to 10 weeks depending on the availability of the material. Delays can be short or long depending on the situation.

9- Is anyone sponsored by Evolution Drums?
No, not really. There are many reasons for this. In order to maintain reasonable prices, to better serve its customers and to have tight quality-control of its products, Evolution drums does not sponsor anybody. If you are a serious drummer who wishes to maintain his/her reputation, we will gladly help you make the right choice of instrument among our products. The best sponsorship we can offer to a drummer is the fact that you can be proud to play a high-end instrument that was hand-made specifically for you.
